Without our Mumembe Scouts we would be fighting a battle already lost. The Mumembe Scouts are a group of men and woman from our local communities that have agreed to put their lives on the line for wildlife. After three months of extensive training the scouts were first deployed in 2020.

The scouts are responsible for patrolling all 1 000 000 acres. The area faces a variety of threats such as subsistence and commercial poaching, illegal logging and agricultural expansion. Having boots on the ground is essential to having an upper hand on these illegal activities.
